When you are sure of yourself, your confidence level is steady, and you are never shaky;  you do the things calmly and successfully. Also, trust and faith take us a long way. 

The child in the story was very confident that her father would take her safely. Similarly, our master, God also loves us, and if, we have faith and trust in Him, we develop self-confidence.  And, this takes us through our journey of life.
