Ninth in a series from John’s first epistle.  In Christ, we have access to God our awesome, heavenly Father, just as a child before a loving father.  Following Him requires obedience which includes believing in the name of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and behaving towards each other in love.  Pastor Larson explores this passage in 1 John, showing us how we can be confident before God because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross!  He warns that we are not to place confidence in ourselves, but rather to examine our hearts to ensure we are obeying His commands and that our actions are pleasing to Him.  Belief and behavior – listen to understand how these two factors are essential in your relationship with Christ.
