Context, motivation of the writer, translation, circumstances of the text, and many other factors are all important considerations in understanding and interpreting scripture. It is not enough to simply take a passage at face value and read it in a surface way. Let’s go deeper! Let’s truly investigate the meaning. And, most importantly, let us remain open to the Spirit’s leadership as our true teacher and revealer of Truth.
