God is calling people out of darkness into light. The Bible makes it clear that the human heart loves darkness more than it does light. In fact John 1 makes it clear that Jesus came as light in a dark world.

When Paul stood on Mars Hill he boldly confronted darkness and his preaching resulted in 3 different reactions.

Some mocked.

Some believed.

Some wanted to hear more.

People still react in that way to the message. They reacted that way to Jesus in His own day. Every faithful witness will see it happen.
