Tonight on this campus, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the story of Nathan Bedford Forrest before the Civil War.

Timothy Huebner - a history professor at Rhodes College in Memphis - will tell that story about the Confederate General, who was born here in Tennessee.

The title of tonight’s lecture - starting at 7 PM here at UTC is “Confronting the Past in Memphis:  Nathan Bedford Forrest, the Antebellum Slave Trade and the Reinvention of Civil War Memory.”
