Pell Grants are a form of financial aid provided by the federal government to students who demonstrate financial need. However, currently, Pell Grants are only available to students pursuing traditional associates or bachelor’s degrees.A group of 15 members of the U.S. House of Representatives has written a letter to congressional leaders encouraging a change to that policy. Three members of Utah’s federal delegation signed on, John Curtis, Blake Moore and Burgess Owens. Congressman Burgess Owens, who serves as Chair of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Subcommittee joins the show to discuss this further.
