We are back with Season 2 of La Carnita Asada! We had the pleasure and honor to speak with Little Village native, Congressman Jesus 'Chuy" Garcia. The conversation was an honest and authentic look into the life of the Congressman. So much so that the tamales from our local street vendor was not touched! We encourage everyone to support street vendors and small businesses in your community!
A little bit about congressman Garcia:
“In 2019, U.S. Representative Jesús G. “Chuy” García became the first Mexican American from the Midwest to serve in Congress. Throughout his time in public service, he's been a progressive voice fighting to improve conditions for immigrant and working families through equitable access to quality education, affordable housing, and economic opportunity. Drawing on his history working with Mayor Harold Washington and Rudy Lozano, he is a coalition builder committed to empowering the next generation of progressive leaders. Currently, he serves on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, and is a Deputy Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.”
