Sam shares a moving story about her mom dreaming of Sam's late father standing in a doorway bathed in light, waving her toward him. And perhaps the most powerful story of all: Sam's daughter Maddie, who was only three when her grandfather Poppy passed away, came home from school years later in tears. She had walked down the hallway and seen him sitting at the foot of the bed, clear as day. Sam realized later that Maddie wasn't supposed to be home alone that day, and it felt as though her dad had shown up to watch over his granddaughter one more time.
