Connected to the Source
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” — John 15:7.
Ever tried charging your phone with a loose cable? The light flickers for a second, then nothing. No power. No charge. Why? Because the connection isn’t solid.
A lot of people try to live their Christian life like that — loosely connected to Jesus. They check in on Sundays, or only when things go wrong. But when you’re not truly connected, you don’t get the strength, peace, or direction you need.
Jesus said that when we remain in Him, everything changes. It’s not about a quick prayer here or memorizing a verse there. It’s about being so close to Him that your heart starts to beat in rhythm with His. His desires start to shape yours.
And then comes the promise: “Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done.”
Not because God’s some kind of genie, but because your requests are now aligned with heaven. Selfishness fades, faith grows. Fear shrinks, confidence rises. Sin loses its grip, and grace takes over.
But this only happens when we feed on God’s Word every day. Reading the Bible is like keeping your soul’s Wi-Fi connected. That’s how we hear Jesus speak, understand what He wants from us, and gain the strength to stand even when the world tries to pull us down.
So today, make the choice:
Stay plugged in. Don’t disconnect. Remain.
The power you need to overcome fear, temptation, and even sadness — it’s all in Jesus. And with Him, you won’t just survive… you’ll thrive.
