Connected to the Vine #2
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him will bear much fruit; for without me, you can do nothing.” – John 15:5.
Picture a branch trying to survive on its own, disconnected from the tree. No root. No trunk. No life. It dries up. That’s exactly how we are when we try to live apart from Jesus.
Today, a lot of people think they can save themselves by being “good enough,” doing good deeds, or just trying hard. But here’s the hard truth that sets us free: without Jesus, we cannot escape sin or produce anything that truly matters spiritually. Sin is a pit too deep to climb out of alone. Only Christ can pull us out.
But here’s the beautiful part: when we truly connect with Jesus, He becomes the very life flowing through us. Like blood pumping through our veins, His Spirit lives in us, strengthens us, shapes us. His thoughts influence ours. His love molds our actions. His light literally shines through us, even in our expressions.
Being connected to the Vine is more than going to church or saying you believe in God. It’s about living close to Him every day—listening to His voice, letting Him shape your heart, your dreams, your words. It’s about the Holy Spirit becoming a living force inside you.
And when that happens? People notice. They see the difference. They want what you have. Through your life, Jesus starts to touch theirs.
Don’t live for appearances. Live for connection. Stay in Christ like a branch clings to the vine. Because with Him, life grows. Without Him… we can do nothing.
