She serves as Chief Scientific Officer and Director of the Weitzman Institute, leading research, education, and policy efforts to advance quality improvement and primary care transformation for vulnerable populations. Dr. Damian is also a Senior Scholar for Health Equity at Academy Health and holds faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Wesleyan University. A national thought leader, she contributes to multiple advisory boards and committees, including the National Academies and NIH’s RECOVER initiative. Previously, she directed Quality Innovation at the National Quality Forum, expanding efforts around social determinants of health measurement. Dr. Damian earned her PhD from Johns Hopkins, a master’s from Harvard Medical School, and her bachelor’s degree with highest honors from UC Berkeley.
