- The true intent of business is to make positive impact. Businesses are supposed to be the answer to society’s problems, not society’s problems.

- Create a powerful cause within your company then create “roots groups” and empower these groups to identify the strategic actions to achieve that cause.

- There are three layers of strategy: Strategic focus, outcomes, and actions.

- Strategic focus and outcomes are in the arena of the executive team. Others in the organization should help to develop the actions.

- Leadership intelligence is a combination of cognitive intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), and system intelligence (Sys-Q).

- System intelligence is an awareness of how actions influence individuals, processes, etc. within and beyond the organization.
