Three hours after leaving home, Rob finds himself reflecting on identity, belonging and human connection after an unexpected conversation with Vladimir, a taxi driver who fled the former Yugoslavia nearly thirty years ago.

What starts as a routine airport transfer becomes the first meaningful encounter of a project built around meeting people from all 48 nations competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With a cancelled flight, a delayed departure and a fresh perspective, Rob considers what it means to stay curious, seek connection and begin a six-week journey across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
