Growing up, like many young irish young boys Conor McGregor thought his future would be playing football but he later came to the realization that soccer was for girls and he preferred himself a good fight. Then his parents relocated to a new town, without friends the then quiet Conor began boxing and kickboxing. For a short time he took on a trade as a plumber but despised it and was living off the government for some time as he trained for the day he would make a name for himself in the UFC.
