Today's sermon explores Jesus' words to the church at Pergamum in Revelation 2. This church was located in the very heart of the pagan world. Though it was not without its sin and compromise, it was commended for standing strong in the face of persecution even as it was called to repentance for its errors. We have many of the same dangers today when we are tempted to befriend or incorporate secular culture in the church, changing our worship of God for the sake of 'engagement.'
