An untamed appetite or desire will eventually tame a man and put such in deep sorrow. It is natural to desire certain things in life, but if you notice that there is something that has taken hold of you and you cannot control, quickly ask the Lord to break it for you.

Some chapters before our reading of the day, Esau sold his birthright, for him, it was an uncontrolled appetite for food that made him ruin his life. Other men like Ruben have gone to waste their destinies because of a brief moment of sexual pleasure (Genesis 49:3-4).
