Maya speaks with Andrew Schulz, an Elephant and Panda physicist and mechanical engineer who had a previous appearance on the podcast in which he spoke about his research into elephant trunk physics.

During this episode of the Conservation Cast, Andrew discussed his organization of choice, Conservify, detailing their significance within the field of conservation technology as well as giving an in-depth explanation of the organization’s aims with their open-source Field Kits. Other points of discussion included the successes of drone usage within conservation,  re-identification using facial recognition, and Conservation X Labs. The two were later joined by Connor from American Eagle Foundation and Dr. Michael Dobbins to discuss promising technological innovations in conservation.

Conservify

Maya’s community raised $2051.01 in support of Conservify, a non-profit organization that seeks to empower conservationists and communities by lowering the barriers to entry for effective conservation. Conservify provides platforms, apps, and connected conservation devices in order to build an open conservation community within conservation technology.
