Political stances are considered to be features we adopt later in life. However, it is common knowledge that youth tend towards activism and socialism whereas the more mature one becomes, the more likely it is that they will have shifted right on the political spectrum. In this essay it is argued that this is as much about biology and the maturation process itself, than about intrinsic value structures.
