Chapter 1:
-Day two of the Conservative Party convention gets underway in Halifax today in the wake of a bombshell day which saw former leadership contender Maxime Bernier announce he’s breaking away from the party to start his own.

-Maverick Conservative MP Maxime Bernier dropped a bombshell yesterday, announcing he’s breaking away from the party and starting his own. In a scathing attack - Bernier said he’s fed up with leader Andrew Scheer’s “moderate” views, and charged the party is too “intellectually and morally corrupt”.
Chapter 3
-Australia has moved to ban Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei (and another Chinese state owned company ZTE) from its 5G mobile network amid concerns about national security. But Canada’s government is yet to act, while the company, which is the world’s largest maker of telecommunications network equipment - continues to put down deep roots here. Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says he’ll travel to Australia shortly to “hear more about their position”.
