Raising kids is a study in change. As soon as you think you have one phase figured out, your children are on to the next, and you’re almost back at square one trying to develop some kind of plan that could be effective. In the early days, you’re just hoping for some sleep and that you aren’t missing anything important in your ignorance. Later, you become very aware of influences on your child that can cause great concern. As they approach adulthood, you struggle to figure out how to coach them and let them go at the same time. And there are a million shifts and changes in between. Of course, motherhood is not the only place where life is filled with change. In fact, it is everywhere in everyone’s life. And it can be overwhelming. Certainly the recent months have had more than their share of uncertainty and changes to deal with. Let’s look at a story from Israel’s history where a few women faced all kinds of change and uncertainty, and found out how God can be good in the middle of all of it.
