This year marks the 50th anniversary of Pakistan's Constitution, which granted legal rights to all political officials, as well as protections for all citizens. Meanwhile, some suggested that this founding documents ought to be reformed, based on the current political unrest. Former PM of Pakistan Imran Khan was arrested on the charge of corruption, which also sparked protests and unrest nationwide, did it link to the reform to the constitution? Is Khan gearing up for his next political career? How should we understand the correlation between the constitution and the current political uncertainty?


Shoaib Kahut is a PhD scholar of Shandong university (SDU), China . His research interests include Belt and Road Initiative and energy economics. He has carried out extensive research on Chinese investments across the globe and BRI. He belongs to Pakistan wherein he worked for the government and private sector as well.
