Lesson 09: Legislative Authorities

- Prohibitions to the State Governments

The States created the Constitution in order to protect, preserve and promote the union, and State sovereignty.  They also realized the States needed to be prohibited from performing certain functions in order not to interfere with the federal government, or the rule of law.  Article I, Section 10 covers those prohibitions.

Join Douglas V. Gibbs of Political Pistachio as he journeys through the United States Constitution. We study the concepts, principles, and direct text of the U.S. Constitution from the original point of view of the Founding Fathers.
