Dr. Abel Maciel is an architect and Senior Research Associate at UCL. He tutors at UCL’s Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment and the Faculty of Engineering.

He is the founding director of Design Computation Ltd, a specialist consultancy delivering Building Information Modelling, Programmatic Design, and Smart Contracts. Design Computation collaborates closely with Autodesk as a Select Service Provider.

Abel is a founding director and academic lead of the Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC) and the initiator of the Design Computation Wiki, an open knowledge platform for computational design.
