This is a guided container exercise. The container exercise is commonly used in EMDR treatment, but can be used even if that is not something you participate in. A container exercise is used to take something that is stressing you out or feels overwhelming and put it 'in a container' so that you can come back to it later or just leave it and deal with life. EMDR treatment is commonly used to address trauma or negative beliefs that we hold. EMDR has grown in popularity and continues to do so.
