Much of what we now say and do in contemporary culture actually makes no sense. It defies reason and rationality, which is to say, it is irrational, and we celebrate this. We want freedom to act with a moral compass of our own devising, freedom to do what’s right in our own eyes, and we’re chasing after this wind with all we’re worth: abortion, gambling, unfettered debt, immoral sexuality, idea of God an unnecessary hypothesis, there is not truth, we could go on.
