  • Israel says, “how are we despising you?”
  • God responds by focusing on the people and the priests too. God responds, “you are bringing shamefully lame offerings of these sick blemished animals (with the mindset of “it’s good enough).” Showing that they do not value or honor their God. The priests tolerate and participate in these corrupt forms of worship.
  • Bottom line: From top to bottom, God’s people have proven faithless.
