Contend for the Faith

Let's talk about salvation through faith or salvation through works! Today we talk about how works are an overflow of our salvation and how they are also very important in our Christian walk. Then I go on a rant about church unity lol Enjoy!

Hey everyone! Today we are looking at transubstantiation: the history, the current denominations' beliefs, and my journey through understanding the eucharist. Enjoy!

Is the shroud of Turin authentic? How do we know? Why does the body not look proportional? Is the image able to be replicated today? What about the carbon dating saying that it is a 13th century artifact?

We answer all these questions and more! Decide for yourself if you are a shroudie!

Hey everyone!

Today we are discussing the claim that the virgin birth prophesy was simply a mistranslation. Was the entire birth story of Jesus built on a lie? We go into this and 9 other birth prophesies of Jesus. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! We have a great episode for you this week. We are continuing our exploration about if Jesus fulfilled messianic prophesies. Today's topic is Isaiah 53. Jewish rabbis today claim the this is about the people of Israel as a collective, but that is a pretty new thought. We dissect why this is talking about an individual person and how Jesus fulfilled these prophesies.

Hey everyone! In this week's episode we are talking about why Judaism does not accept Jesus as the jewish messiah and what prophesies Jesus did not fulfill. Is it a problem that he didn't bring world peace?

We learn about how religious Judaism has the image of two messiahs, while Christianity believes there is one messiah coming twice. Enjoy the episode

In this week's episode we are talking about the fate of the apostles. Were they martyred? How do we know? Does it actually matter if we know?

I got hung up a lot of times on if and how we know that the apostles were martyred, because sometimes there are conflicting reports. In this episode we talk about the fact that even them knowing that martyrdom was a possibility tells us a lot about their sincere belief in the resurrection. Enjoy the episode

Today we are having a discussion about all things anxiety, worry, and weight loss as a Christian .

Abby talks about what she has been struggling with recently and what God has to say about it. The discussion dives into pride, vanity, anxiety, comparison, trusting God, and if anxiety is a sin. It all comes down to how we live out our lives while trusting in God's sovereign plan. Enjoy!

How do we know if Jesus rose again? Who did he appear to? Howe do we know that these accounts can be trusted? What surrounding evidence is there for or against the resurrection?

We talk about all of this and more!

We know that Jesus lived, died, and was buried, but how do we know that his tomb was empty as his disciples claimed? Could the disciples have stolen the body? Did they have mass hallucinations? Was Jesus an alien? Yes, that's a real theory.

This week we go over all of the different theories about the empty tomb and how the resurrection story is the only one that answers all of the questions and historical claims we have about Jesus death and burial.
