Jude has been calling us to contend for the faith, and by this point in the letter, our swords are drawn, and we are ready for a fight. In verses 22 and 23, however, Jude gives us a surprising instruction: he urges us to show mercy. This is a crucial part of what it means to contend for the faith. We must contend for the faith with mercy.
