Research shows that Black women are especially vulnerable to sexual violence. In the U.S., 38% of Black women experienced sexual violence other than rape during their lifetime.

And for multi-generations, those survivors have practiced forgetting as a means of survival.
African American women are at disproportionate risk of sexual violence.
Every day Black women and celebrities, like KeKe, Cassie, and Fantasia have spoken out about their sexual abuse.
Women ages 18-24 are at an elevated risk of sexual violence. 
According to Rainn, 26.4% of female undergraduate students experience rape or sexual assault on campus.                                                                                         
The chances of a Black woman being sexually assaulted are significantly higher than their white counterparts. More than 20% of black women are sexually assaulted during their lifetimes- a higher share than women overall, according to the American Psychological Association.                                
35% of black women experienced some form of contact sexual violence during their lifetime.    
40% to 60% of black women report being subjected to coercive sexual contact by age 18.   body rites book description:
