Portland, Oregon's Elemental Energy started the non-profit Twende Solar to bridge the gap between renewable energy experts and energy-poor communities. Twende Solar has installed solar systems in Guatemala and Cambodia and has more projects in the works, all supported by the volunteer efforts of many in the U.S. solar industry.
