Brittany Gordon is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked extensively with adolescents who experience deficits in emotion regulation skills and behavioral challenges. She is a trained Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist as well as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist. Brittany joins Spilling the Thera-Tea to discuss how people can better recognize if they are having difficulty managing their emotions and how that can show up in a detrimental way in their lives.
Brittany and KathyDan talk about their clinical experiences and healthy ways to diffuse emotional dysregulation and Jess shares some techniques she has used to better cope with emotional outbursts stemming from childhood trauma. Brittany also shares information about her new support and skills groups at KDM called Control Your Emotions, Don’t Let Your Emotions Control You. The team and Brittany wrap it up by answering some listener questions in the Asked and Answered segment.
