The Box Elder High School wrestling team’s second place finish at the 2025 5A state championship will be shrouded in controversy after the disqualification of a Spanish Fork wrestler and his team points for biting was later reversed. In the 138-pound semi-final match, after Box Elder’s Bostyn Tucker won by technical fall over Spanish Fork’s Cahill Simons and the wrestlers shook hands and those of the coaches, Tucker reported to the officials that Simons had bit him. According to Box Elder coach Jed Craner, Tucker’s forearm bore clear top and bottom teeth marks.
