Last night, a public hearing was held to debate the rezoning of several low rise apartment buildings in the city’s West End, to build one 30-storey tower with 82 condos and 39 units designated for social housing.  Controversially, the condo tower will have separate entrances and lobbies for the social housing tenants. City staff claim the segregated entrances make sense from a financial and management standpoint. Are separate entrances for occupants based on your status discriminatory?
