The show today was centered on the new naira redesign. A week to the general elections and the country has taken an entirely different turn with protests and riots almost across all the states. Most banks are not opening and the central bank has announced that the old currency should be submitted at their office. A lot of people are not accepting the old currency again, but the new currency is nowhere to be found.
Not only the masses, some senators as well as governors have expressed their displeasure at what is going on currently. Why are people rejecting the old notes, when the new ones are barely in circulation, was the redesign really necessary at this particular point in time? The aim or reason for the reason was achieved.
Our host Adewunmi Oshodi engaged the listeners on their experience and how they’ve been coping, some of the callers felt that the protests and riots were sponsored, and some urged Nigerians to endure it because they believed it was for just a short period, while others felt it was the masses that were at the receiving end.
