Conversation For One episodes

  • You Don’t Have to Become Cold to Protect Your Heart

Getting hurt can make you want to shut down, but your softness was never the problem. You can keep your heart open, set boundaries, and choose yourself without losing the parts of you that know how to love deeply.

    Welcome to Conversation For One.

  • Being Honest About Your Boundaries

In this episode of Conversation For One, I’m talking about honesty, boundaries, and what it means when someone’s truth doesn’t match what you hoped for.

Can you appreciate someone being upfront and still decide the situation isn’t right for you? We’ll get into respecting what people say, being honest about what you can offer, and choosing yourself without turning every mismatch into somebody being the bad guy.

  • Peace Doesn’t Require Their Participation

Everybody says they want peace, but a lot of us are actually waiting for resolution. We’re waiting for the apology, the explanation, the changed behavior, the closure, or for somebody to finally understand how badly they hurt us.

But what happens when none of that shit ever comes?

In this episode of Conversation For One, I’m talking about what it really means when we say peace is internal. Peace isn’t pretending you’re not hurt. It isn’t avoiding conflict, suppressing emotions, or cutting everybody off. It’s learning that somebody can misunderstand you, disappoint you, never apologize, and even walk away believing their own version of the story and you can still be okay.

Because resolution requires somebody else’s participation.

    Peace doesn’t.

Sometimes closure is simply saying, “I saw enough.” And sometimes healing begins when you stop waiting for somebody else to give you permission to move forward. 🖤

  • WHEN THE WOUND TAKES THE MIC

Sometimes you are not reacting to what is happening. You are reacting to everything the moment reminded you of.

In this episode of Conversation For One, we explore what happens when an old wound takes control of an adult reaction. Why silence can feel like abandonment, boundaries can feel like rejection, and accountability can feel like proof that you are unlovable.

We unpack the difference between being triggered and being in danger, how survival behaviors can eventually damage the relationships we are trying to build, and why understanding your trauma does not excuse the harm it causes.

You are not responsible for what wounded the child in you, but you are responsible for making sure that child does not control the life the adult in you is trying to build.

It is time to let that younger version of you rest. The adult you are today can finally protect them.

  • You Might Be Chasing What You Lost

What if the things you keep chasing aren’t really about what you want but about what you’ve lost?

In this episode of Conversation For One, I talk about grief beyond death: the childhood you didn’t get, relationships that ended, versions of yourself you had to leave behind, futures that never happened, and the people you learned to live without.

We don’t always chase things. We chase feelings. Safety. Validation. Being chosen. Being seen. Feeling worthy. And sometimes we unknowingly ask new people, relationships, accomplishments, and distractions to heal old losses.

I also open up about something I rarely talk about: the difference between missing my mom and recognizing who I had to become after losing her.

So ask yourself: What are you constantly chasing—and what are you hoping you’ll finally feel when you catch it?

Maybe you’re not chasing what you want.

Maybe you’re chasing what you lost.

  • When Sex Is the Only Thing Holding You Together

Can sex keep a relationship alive when everything else is already dead?

In this episode, we’re talking about the difference between real intimacy and sexual attachment. Because sometimes the chemistry is strong, but the communication is weak. The sex is good, but the emotional connection is missing. And when the physical part is the only thing holding two people together, eventually you have to ask yourself what’s actually left when the clothes go back on.

  • Stop Giving People Credit for Potential You Created

In this episode of Conversation For One, We break down the danger of falling in love with who someone could be instead of paying attention to who they consistently choose to be.

Sometimes we aren’t attached to the person in front of us we’re attached to their potential, their good moments, and the future we imagined they would eventually grow into. We make excuses, explain away patterns, and stay loyal to possibilities that were never promised.

This episode explores the difference between empathy and self-abandonment, intention and action, capability and commitment, and hope versus reality. It’s a reminder that understanding someone’s pain does not mean you have to keep accepting the pain they cause.

Because potential may be beautiful, but patterns tell the truth.

  • My Sexuality Is Not a Trauma Response

Why is one of the first questions lesbians get asked, “What happened to you?”

In this episode of Conversation For One, we’re unpacking one of the most common misconceptions about lesbian identity: the belief that being attracted to women must be the result of trauma, heartbreak, or “not meeting the right man.”

This isn’t about attacking men. It’s about challenging the assumption that heterosexuality is the default and that lesbianism needs an explanation.

We’ll talk about the difference between trauma and sexual orientation, why attraction doesn’t need to be justified, and how constantly searching for a man’s role in a lesbian’s story unintentionally centers men in a conversation that has always been about women.

Nothing had to happen to make me gay.

Sometimes people are exactly who they say they are.

If this episode challenged your perspective, made you think, or gave you the words you’ve been looking for, share it with someone. I’d love to hear your thoughts drop a comment or send me a message, because the best conversations are the uncomfortable ones.

  • The Addiction to Potential: Why We Keep Falling in Love With Who Someone Could Be.

We spend so much time falling in love with someone’s potential that we forget to pay attention to their reality.

In this episode of Conversation For One, we’re talking about why so many of us stay too long, excuse too much, and become emotionally attached to the version of someone we hope they’ll become instead of accepting who they are today.

We’ll unpack the difference between potential and patterns, why hope can become an emotional trap, and how waiting for someone to change often keeps us from choosing ourselves.

Because sometimes the hardest relationship to let go of isn’t the person,it’s the future you imagined with them.

If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “I know they’re capable of more,” this conversation is for you.

  • You’re Not Healing… You’re Just Avoiding It Better

We love to say we’re healing.

We stay busy. We show up. We pour into everything and everyone around us… and convince ourselves that means we’ve moved on.

But what happens when everything gets quiet?

In this episode of Conversation For One, we’re getting honest about the difference between coping and actually healing. The distractions we hide behind. The patterns we carry. And the truth a lot of people avoid… just because you kept going doesn’t mean you faced it.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything “right” but still feel the same underneath… this conversation is for you.

This isn’t about judging where you are.

It’s about recognizing what you haven’t dealt with yet… and having the courage to finally sit with it.

    Because distraction isn’t healing.

And eventually… everything you avoid will ask to be felt.
