Healing does not happen overnight.ย
Throughout the human life, one can rely on having to heal from scars, whether tangible or intangible, it is very likely that something along the road will leave you scarred. Some of us are healing from family trauma, abusive relationships and even lost relationships. But how do we really heal? What are some of the layers to it? What is the process? How long does it take?ย
In this episode, Daniellia shares nuggets she's learnt about the topic of healing.
I read the book "Becoming" by Michelle Obama and I found it so interesting to hear about her background, to see the development of who she is today, with the in between of how she got there. That made me interested in finding out more to who you are. Who were you? What was childhood like? Not in the generic way, but paint the picture for us of how growing up that way molded you, even when sometimes you didn't feel that way.
In this episode, Daniellia engages Rushane "Rush Cam" Campbell - Attoryney at Law turned Content Creator, YouTuber - who shares his "becoming story" and so much more.
"The process of transformation from an immature version of a being to an adult/more mature form..."
We all began in our purposed field as a caterpillar waiting in our cahoon. What did that process look like? What are some of the experiences you've had to go through in the process that if you dared to share, would shock the masses?
In this episode, Daniellia shares her story of metamorphosis, as a person and a brand.
[Ad: In this episode, we highlight the book The Depths of My Scars published by DW Org Books & Publications]
"The gradual development of something or someone..."
When you think of where you started in your journey, whether it be in life or work, have you evolved? Have you grown? How has your developmental process been? Tell us your story.
In this episode, Daniellia engages Jik-Reuben Pringle - a Published Visual Ninja that specialises in Portraits,Editorials,ย Professional Portraits, Commercial photography, Documentaries and Interviews - on the evolution of him as a person, then a brand. Is there more to Jik-Reuben than meets the eye?
[Ad: In this episode, we highlight the Sickle Cell Disease movement #WarriorsUnite]
"An abrupt or sudden change..."
We all have that one path we were sure we wanted to be on. Some of us even studied for one field, but ended up in a field that is so opposing and in no way related, that people wonder what lead to that major switch. We call it a SWERVE. What swerve did you make in life that people would not have imagined?
In this episode, Daniellia engages Lo Watkis - CEO of Lo Watkis Co - on the swerve she made to land in the Entertainment Industry working with some of the most successful brands and talents. Her portfolio sees her working with the likes of Chronixx, Popcaan, Original Koffee, Joby Jay and so many others. But is this where she was supposed to end up?
[Ad: In this episode, we highlight the company Lo Watkis Co.]
Sometimes in life we find ourselves on the cusp of evolution, but there's a period where we move between being at rock bottom and the new life. This cusp I like to call "the transition". We all have a major transitioning period in our lives that lead us to who we are today. What's your transitioning story?
In this episode, Daniellia shares her transition story. From studying a life of abuse and hardship, to studying Dentistry that lead her to enjoy a passionate life as an Entertainment Executive. It all happened with the transitions of life that she never allowed to deter her.
Welcome to Conversation in Motion!ย
This season (Season 3), we're doing things a little bit differently. We still want it to be conversational but the difference is, it's not all about me. As an Entertainment Executive with pieces of me many don't know, I gather there are more people like me, so why not feature them? I enjoy learning about people's stories and diving into who they are or what made them the person they are today, so it's only fitting that this season we hope to do just that. We're going to be featuring members of the Jamaican Creative Industries and the parts of their stories often not mentioned; from who they are as individuals (outside of their brand) to whether or not this is what they studied... we're definitely unpacking a lot this season, and you know we never can tell how heavy things will get but I'm intrigued and excited. I hope you are too.
We've also added some new features - song of the week, giveaways and so much more!
We're definitely having fun this season and I just cannot wait!
Grab your wine, your chocolate or whatever your favourite snack is and join in as we "unpack the heavy stuff"!
We were taught as a black race that we were not beautiful enough, and so much more. In this episode, Daniellia and Joby Jay discuss the different dimensions to this topic. [This episode also bears a YouTube version]
