In this episode, I spoke with Dr. Ashwin Vasan, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Commissioner Vasan is a primary care physician, epidemiologist, and public health expert working to improve physical and mental health as well as social welfare and public policy for marginalized populations in New York City, nationally, and globally. We discussed his career expanding our perspective of health and the factors contributing to our wellbeing, lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic, and insights for current and future health leaders.
