A companion is someone you choose to build a life with. You share a home, a bank account, a vision for the future. Their journey is your journey. Their struggles, your struggles. Their wins, your wins. A companion is in the trenches with you, every step of the way.  

A friend? A real friend is different. They stand with you, but they don’t walk your path. They have their own life, their own companion, their own responsibilities. But through time, distance, and silence, a true friend remains. They don’t need to be in your everyday life to want to see you win.  

The truth is, your companion usually starts as a friend—but not every friend is meant to be a companion. That’s where people get it twisted.  

Know the difference. Respect the roles. Because confusing the two? That’s how you end up lost.
