Bob Stoops and Matt Leinart recall when Oklahoma made a late push ahead of the 2000 national championship game to get the future Heisman winner in a Sooners’ uniform. 

Matt Leinart is about as USC as they come, but he strongly considered Oklahoma as a recruit. On this episode of Conversations with Coach, they discuss Stoops’ visiting Leinart’s family home, his mom’s cookies and how a dinner at Applebee’s ultimately helped Leinart to make his decision to pick Los Angeles, California over Norman, Oklahoma.
