This episode is with lovely Tanya Mawarha. Tanya is a youth activist and due to her own struggles with mental health, in March 2021, she founded a youth mental health charity, called Championing Youth Minds. The aim was for young people to help other young people care for their mental well-being daily. Since then she’s won multiple awards, spoken at 10 downing street and this past Summer launched Baton of Hope which was the biggest suicide prevention and awareness initiative the UK has ever seen, spanning 12 cities in 12 days. Tanya and I discuss her mental health journey, why she created her charity, and more about how people can support. Trigger warnings for this episode include discussions of suicide, domestic abuse and self harm.
