Susan Piver: The Truths of Love

The world is full of people with broken hearts, broken spirits, and broken relationships. The pain of a broken relationship is very real, and the grief may feel debilitating. Why is it so difficult to make relationships work? New York Times bestselling author and mindfulness expert, Susan Piver, applies classic Buddhist wisdom to modern romance to show that ancient philosophies have timeless—and unexpected—wisdom on how to love. Susan teaches strategies to connect more deeply with others. Susan’s work has been featured on Oprah, Today, CNN, and in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Money, and others.

Dibs Baer: The Concrete Jungle

Violence was a way of life for the girls of Mott Middle School in the South Bronx. Some woke up to it at home, and others dodged it on the way to school. Vicious physical fights broke out in classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms. These girls filed their fingernails into sharp points because they had to be ready to go at any time. Then a new coach joined the ranks at Mott Middle, and a new program began: girl’s softball. Dibs Baer, author of Lady Tigers in the Concrete Jungle talks about what happened next.
