Jim Abbott: An Improbable LifeWe all have limitations. It’s what you do with them that matters. Jim Abbott was born without a right hand but that did not stop him from fulfilling his dream of becoming a major league baseball pitcher! Jim was an All-America hurler at Michigan; won the Sullivan Award in 1987; was the pitcher for the Gold Medal Olympic Team in 1988; and threw a 4-0 no-hitter for the New York Yankees. Jim played for 10 seasons and ended his big league playing career in 1999. Jim has worked with The Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy on several initiatives encouraging businesses to hire people with disabilities. Jim is the author of the book, Imperfect: An Improbable Life.


Alexis Jones: Living FearlesslyAlexis Jones believes that we all have the capacity to live fearlessly and inspire those around us to dream big. As a vehicle to empower youth, Alexis launched I Am That Girl, which has more than 1.2 million girls involved with chapters in more than 24 countries. Alexis also founded the company ProtectHer, which is an educational program for high school and college male athletes on the importance of respecting women. Alexis has been invited to speak at The White House and The United Nations and she is a recipient of The Jefferson Award, a national honor for public service. Alexis has been listed on Oprah’s SuperSoul100 and was featured as one of AOL’s Makers. She is the author of the book, I Am That Girl: How to Speak Your Truth, Discover Your Purpose, and Be That Girl.
