  • So, What Are We Still Figuring Out? | Personal Growth, Life Lessons & Becoming | Season 1 Finale

Ten episodes later… what are we still figuring out?

    Honestly?

    A lot.

When I started Converse with Kaffy, I never wanted this to be a space where I sat behind a microphone pretending to have life figured out.

I wanted it to be a place where we could ask the questions many of us are already asking privately.

    Questions about adulthood.

    Identity.

    Relationships.

    Friendship.

    Comparison.

    Starting over.

    Asking for help.

Growing into different versions of ourselves.

And all the complicated spaces in between.

So it feels fitting that we are ending Season 1 not with a list of answers, but with another question:

So, What Are We Still Figuring Out?

In this solo Season 1 finale, I’m looking back at the conversations that shaped our first ten episodes and reflecting on what this journey has taught me too.

We talk about starting before we feel completely ready, why two seemingly opposite things can both be true, how easy it is to compare our full lives to someone else’s snapshot, and what it means to keep showing up while still learning along the way.

I also wanted to acknowledge the people we do not always see.

    The quiet listeners.

The people who watch but never comment.

The person who sends an episode privately to someone because a conversation reminded them of something they are going through.

The person who simply comes back.

You are part of this community too.

And if Season 1 has taught me anything, it is that “figuring it out” may not mean eventually reaching a point where everything makes sense.

    Maybe it means remaining curious.

    Continuing to grow.

    Giving ourselves permission to change.

Holding gratitude and uncertainty at the same time.

And remembering that becoming is not something we finish.

So whether you have been here since Episode 1 or you are pulling up a chair for the first time today, thank you for being here.

    Ten episodes.

    One very special first season.

And still… plenty left to figure out. 🧡

Season 1 of Converse with Kaffy may be ending, but the conversation is not.

Until next time, whatever you are figuring out, be gentle with yourself, look after yourself. Look after each other. And pull up a chair. There is room for you here.

  • Do We Actually Know Our Friends Anymore? | Honesty, Accountability & Adult Friendship with Kenny Alasiri | Part 2

What does a healthy adult friendship actually require when the laughter stops and the harder questions begin?

In Part 2 of my conversation with my longtime friend Kenny Alasiri, we go deeper into the parts of friendship we do not always talk about openly.

Does friendship really have to be 50/50? Can you genuinely love a friend and still feel jealous of them sometimes? Can a good friend disappoint you and still be a good friend? And at what point does repeated disappointment stop being human imperfection and become a pattern we need to pay attention to?

We also talk about honesty and accountability in friendship, the difference between being honest and being judgmental, whether a real friend should tell you when you are wrong, and what it means to genuinely celebrate the people you love without turning friendship into competition.

And because this is Kenny and me, there is still plenty of laughter, teasing and the kind of honesty that comes from knowing someone for many years. 😂

One of my favorite moments comes when I ask Kenny what it feels like to be my friend.

    Her answer?

    “It feels like home.”

And when I think about the friendships that have lasted through different countries, different seasons and different versions of ourselves, maybe that is part of what we are all looking for. A friendship where we can be honest, be challenged, be celebrated and still feel safe enough to come home.

This conversation is not about creating a checklist for the perfect friend.

It is about looking inward too.

Because perhaps the more important question is not only:

    “Who are my real friends?”

    But also:

“What kind of friend am I?”

  • Do We Actually Know Our Friends Anymore? | Adult Friendship, Distance & Growing Together With Kenny Alasiri | Part 1

How well do we really know the people we have called friends for years?

Not who they were when we met them. Not the version of them we remember from ten years ago. But who they are now.

For Episode 9 of Converse with Kaffy, I sit down with one of my closest friends, Kenny Alasiri, for a conversation that honestly felt less like an interview and more like two old friends catching up with microphones on. 😂

Kenny joined me virtually from London for CWK’s very first virtual episode, and apparently years of friendship gave us a LOT to talk about because one episode was simply not going to contain us. So yes, you are getting two parts. 😂

In Part 1, we talk about adult friendship, long distance friendship, growing and changing through different seasons of life, and what it means to keep getting to know someone you have already known for years.

Because friendship can survive distance and time, but that does not necessarily mean we automatically know every new version of each other.

Sometimes staying close means asking new questions.

    Sometimes it means listening differently.

And sometimes it means realizing, “Wait… when did you become this person?” 😂

There is plenty of laughter, plenty of memories, and some surprisingly thoughtful moments about what friendship actually requires as life changes us.

One question I’m still sitting with:

Can we really say we know our friends if we have stopped being curious about who they are becoming?

🎙️ Episode 9, Part 1: Do We Actually Know Our Friends Anymore?

Pull up a chair. This one feels like sitting in on a conversation between two friends who have a whole lot of history and apparently no shortage of things to say. 🧡

  • When Did We Get So Afraid to Start Over? | Starting Over in Life, Career & Relationships With Kathy Frias

Starting over sounds exciting when we talk about it from the other side.

But what about when you are actually standing in the middle of it?

When the relationship ends. When the career changes. When life no longer looks the way you thought it would. When you know something has to change, but you are not entirely sure what comes next.

In Episode 8 of Converse with Kaffy, I sit down with my friend and former colleague Kathy Frias for an honest and deeply personal conversation about starting over, navigating major life transitions, and finding the courage to build again when the life you knew no longer fits.

Kathy shares from her own lived experiences with relationships, career, motherhood, change, and reinvention. We talk about the fear that can come with beginning again, the pressure to have life figured out by a certain age, what experience teaches us about ourselves, and why starting over does not necessarily mean starting from nothing.

Because sometimes the hardest part is not knowing that something needs to change.

It is giving yourself permission to change it.

We also talk about friendship, resilience, the unexpected turns life takes, and yes, there are plenty of laughs along the way because somehow Kathy and I cannot have a conversation without them. 😂

If you have ever found yourself wondering whether it is too late to change direction, leave something behind, try again, or become a different version of yourself, this conversation is for you.

🎙️ Episode 8: When Did We Get So Afraid to Start Over?

As you listen, I would love for you to sit with this question:

What would you be willing to start over if you knew you were not starting from scratch?

  • Why Is It So Hard To Ask For Help? Part 2 With Daisy Adebisi Adeleye

In Part 2 of my conversation with Daisy of Daisy Mo Collective, we continue exploring why asking for help can feel so uncomfortable... especially when we’re used to being the strong one, the dependable one, or the person everyone else turns to.

Now, did we stay perfectly on topic? Absolutely not. 😂

Daisy and I took more than a few scenic routes into conversations about marriage, relationships, friendship, vulnerability, expectations, and navigating life with other people. We wandered, laughed, reflected, found our way back to the topic… and then wandered again.

But somehow, all of those detours still led us back to the heart of the conversation: what it means to need other people, receive support, and admit that we don’t always have to do everything alone.

It’s funny, honest, reflective, and probably one of the most naturally unfiltered conversations I’ve had on the podcast so far.

Pull up a chair and join us for Part 2.

  • Why Is It So Hard To Ask For Help? Part 1 With Daisy Adebisi Adeleye

Why is it so hard to ask for help, even when we would gladly show up for someone else?

In this episode of Converse with Kaffy, Kaffy sits down with her friend Daisy Adebisi Adeleye of Daisy Mo Collective for a warm, funny, and honest conversation about independence, vulnerability, pride, and the pressure of being the person everyone expects to have it together.

They talk about what happens when being “the strong one” becomes part of your identity, why receiving help can feel uncomfortable, and the difference between knowing support is available and actually allowing yourself to receive it.

And because this was a conversation between two friends with a lot to say, one episode simply was not enough.

This is Part 1 of a two part conversation.

There are plenty of laughs, a few detours, and a lot of honesty along the way.

Because sometimes the hardest words to say are not “I’m sorry” or “I was wrong.”

    Sometimes they are simply:

    “I need help.”

Pull up a chair for a conversation about strength, vulnerability, friendship, and learning that needing people does not make us any less capable.

  • Growing Pains: When You’ve Outgrown What Once Fit With Genesis Romney

What happens when the life, relationships, spaces, or versions of yourself that once fit… simply don’t anymore?

In Episode 6 of Converse with Kaffy, Kaffy sits down with Genesis Romney for an honest conversation about growth, change, identity, and what it feels like to realize that something you once belonged to may no longer fit the person you are becoming. Genesis brings so much lived experience into this conversation, from growing up as a young woman in the Caribbean, to the life she knew before motherhood, to navigating motherhood itself across seasons that looked completely different from one another, and now, her recent chapter stepping into Classic Miss Minnesota. Every version of her has taught her something different about who she is becoming, and she brings all of it to the table.

We talk about the uncomfortable side of growth. The friendships that shift. The chapters that close. The expectations we outgrow. The courage it takes to choose differently, even when the old version of your life feels familiar.

Because sometimes growth doesn’t arrive looking exciting.

    Sometimes it looks like discomfort.

    Sometimes it looks like grief.

Sometimes it looks like finally admitting:

    “This doesn’t fit me anymore.”

And maybe outgrowing something doesn’t mean it was wrong for you.

Maybe it simply means it belonged to a different season of your life.

Pull up a chair for a real conversation about becoming, letting go, and giving yourself permission to grow without apologizing for it.

  • The Conversations We Keep Replaying in Our Heads

Have you ever walked away from a conversation only to replay it again and again in your head?

What you should have said. What you wish you hadn't said. The response you didn't expect. The apology that never came. The closure you're still waiting for.

Some conversations end in real life but somehow keep going on inside us.

In this solo episode, Kaffy sits down alone to talk about the conversations we keep replaying, the arguments we rewrite after the fact, the words we never got to say, and why certain moments are so hard to put down.

Maybe the question isn't always "how could that conversation have gone differently." Maybe the better question is, "why am I still carrying it?"

If you've ever lost sleep over something someone said, or something you didn't say, this episode is for you. Pull up a chair for an honest conversation about regret, reflection, closure, and learning when it might finally be time to let a conversation end.

  • Can We Talk About Loneliness?

What does loneliness look like when you’re not actually alone?

In this solo episode of Converse with Kaffy, I’m talking about the kind of loneliness that can exist even when your life is full of people; family, friends, coworkers, children, a partner, responsibilities and constant connection.

Because sometimes being needed is not the same thing as being known.

We talk about friendship loneliness, feeling unseen in relationships, the quiet isolation that can come with being “the strong one,” how adult friendships change, and why being surrounded by people doesn’t always mean we feel deeply connected.

I also explore a question I’ve been sitting with: What if loneliness is sometimes information? What if it’s showing us that we’re craving a different kind of connection... deeper conversation, more honesty, more community, or even a reconnection with ourselves?

This isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about naming a feeling many of us experience but may not always know how to talk about.

    Listener question:
Where in your life do you feel most connected right now… and where do you feel least connected?

  • Who Am I When I’m Not Being Everything to Everyone? With Chenayi Shava Ogunbanjo

Who are you when you’re not being everything to everyone else?

In this episode of Converse with Kaffy, I sit down with my very first guest, Chenayi Shava Ogunbanjo, for an honest conversation about identity, motherhood, ambition, purpose, community, and the many roles we carry for the people around us.

Chenayi is an educator with more than 20 years of experience, a wife, mother of three, community advocate, and candidate for Oakdale City Council. But for this conversation, we go beyond the titles and talk about the woman underneath them.

What happens when so much of who we are becomes connected to what we do for everyone else? How do we continue showing up for the people we love while still making room for ourselves?

This isn’t about having all the answers. It’s two women comparing notes, sharing experiences, and having one of those conversations we probably don’t have often enough.

    Pull up a chair. 💜🧡

    Listener Question:
Who are you outside of all the roles you carry?
