magazine and a nationally syndicated columnist. He is the author of Saying Yes: In Defense of Drug Use (Tarcher/Penguin) and For Your Own Good: The
Anti-Smoking Crusade and the Tyranny of Public Health (Free Press). He is writing a book about the parallels between drug control and gun control, to be published by Prometheus Books in 2025.

Sun-Times, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. His awards include the Thomas S. Szasz Award for Outstanding

Sullum is a graduate of Cornell University, where he
majored in economics and psychology. He lives in Dallas with his wife and three daughters.
