In this video, I embark on a journey to discover the contents of old hi8 or 8mm video tapes that my sister gave me. These tapes were used with camcorders back in the day and recorded precious memories onto them. However, I no longer have a camcorder to play them back, so I decided to send them to a company for digital conversion. I share my experience with using a Costco membership to work with a fulfillment company for the conversion process, including the cost and the process of attaching barcodes to each tape and mailing them out. I also encounter some issues along the way, such as one tape that couldn’t be processed and receiving a refund for it. I explain why I chose to outsource the conversion instead of doing it myself, including the cost and time-saving factors.
