Kynan Pearson is a video game designer who has worked with Nintendo on titles such as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Pearson was the lead designer for Donkey Kong Country Returns developed by Retro Studios. Pearson has also developed for Halo 4. Pearson brings passionate creativity and thoughtfulness into his design and approach for the games he works on to truly bring them to life.

Evan Kidd sits down with Oliver William Smith. Oliver is a writer, director and performer based in the UK. The Great, Great Grandson of a circus ringmaster and the son of travelling showman, the magic of putting on a show drew him to the theatre at an early age, but it was the moving image that eventually consumed his imagination. Oliver began his career as a Director of Photography and Editor, winning two RTS Awards for “Best Non-Broadcast Factual Programme” (2009, 2010). His debut feature VERVE was nominated for Best Debut Feature at the London Independent Film Awards 2016 under the banner of his production company Ambitious Motion Pictures.

Evan Kidd sits down with Melissa Maerz. Melissa has worked as an editor at Spin and Rolling Stone, a staff writer for Entertainment Weekly and the Los Angeles Times, and a supervising producer on HBO’s Vice News Tonight. She was a founding editor at New York magazine’s Vulture website. She recently released the book Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused. Alright, Alright, Alright is the story of how this iconic film came together and why it worked. Combining behind-the-scenes photos and insights from nearly the entire cast, including Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, and many others, and with full access to Linklater’s Dazed archives, it offers an inside look at how a budding filmmaker and a cast of newcomers made a period piece that would feel timeless for decades to come.

Evan Kidd sits down with Dan Perlman. Dan is a comedian, writer, and director from New York City. He is currently the executive producer, co-creator-writer-star of Showtime’s critically-acclaimed comedy series, FLATBUSH MISDEMEANORS. Dan co-created the award-winning digital series of the same name, which served as the foundation for the Showtime show. Made on zero-budget, the first installment became Oscar-qualified after winning the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2018 Florida Film Festival. As a stand-up, Dan has been featured on Comedy Central and was named one of the New Faces at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His writing has also appeared in The New Yorker. Previously, Dan created and wrote an animated series, THAT’S MY BUS!, which received a pilot order from FOX, and appeared on THE ILIZA SCHLESINGER SKETCH SHOW on Netflix.

Evan Kidd sits down with Dayna Reggero. Dayna is an award-winning film director, listener, and founding director of the Climate Listening Project. She was an All-American and Division 1 runner before volunteering at the local zoo while in college. Dayna’s work started at 19, when she began appearing on television with animals to promote connection to nature. In a print feature, Woman’s Day Magazine showcased Dayna as an “Earth Mother: an Artist Activist who isn’t just fighting for cleaner air and water, but protecting a community’s most precious resources – its people.”

Her main love is writing speculative fiction, though she also is known to write poetry and creative nonfiction, too. A few places her short fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction has appeared, or is forthcoming include: 100 Word Story, Glint Literary Journal, The Wild Word, Apex Magazine, Blood and Bourbon, FIYAH: Magazine of Black Speculative Fiction, Ms Magazine, various zines and anthologies. In 2020, her science fiction novella, “Reenu-You” about a mysterious virus transmitted through a hair care product was published by Falstaff Books. Michele’s work explores psychological horror, especially through issues of race and gender.
