This episode reviews how petrostates and oil producers sneakily added some major loopholes into the final agreement coming out of the most recent UN-sponsored climate summit (COP28). These loopholes include vague language, reliance on carbon capture, restricting the phasedown to "unabated" fuels and the inclusion of the "transitional fuels" loophole that embraces natural gas.
