Open Mic with Host Mike Sherbino is a Live call-in program that provides Christian insights into contemporary, moral, and ethical issues of everyday life. A show that dives deep into how your faith in Jesus changes your life.
In this episode we have Dr. Grant Mullen is with us to talk about getting ready for this holiday season which is almost upon us. Grant is no stranger to the program and has been with us many times. He is a mental health practitioner and speaker. His book Emotionally Free - A prescription for healing the body, soul, and spirit. Grant and his wife Kathy Mullen. Together they are marriage counselors for couples.
Grant and Mike unpack coping with overwhelming stress and depression during the holiday season. On one hand, we look forward to Christmas but on the other, it can be overwhelming often because of our unrealistic expectations. The Christmas season can be one of the most stressful times of the year and it begins before December. In November we change the clocks and cause darkness to fall upon us early. This can also make us more at risk of causing our mood to drop. In December Christmas season represents being with relatives which can cause family stress. Do we lose our focus on the real reason for the season which is the birth of Jesus?
