Malachi 3:10 is the biblical command for us to pay back what belongs to God. Tithing is not a suggestion or an option, but a command for every believer. It comes from a truly grateful heart and opens up the windows of God’s blessings on our lives.
God is attracted to hunger in us. If we desire to see the miraculous, we need to be spiritually hungry and become desperate for Him. Each time God wants to do something on earth, He first brings the Church on her knees. Prayer births revival and revival begins in us.
The Church is more than just a place to gather – it’s called to be a Warring Army, a Worshipping Bride, and a Working Body. From David’s journey through Adullam, Ziklag, and Hebron, we see 3 stages of growth and purpose the Church is called to. Each represents different aspects of God’s calling for us. When we commit to giving and serving, God empowers us with His anointing. What kind of Church are we building today?
1 Peter 5:10-11 reminds us that God’s grace strengthens and restores us through every season of life. His grace brings mercy and rest, not to hold us back, but to refresh us for the journey ahead. When the time comes, we’ll be fully prepared to move forward in His purposes.
Psalm 29:9 declares, ‘The voice of the Lord causes the deer to give birth.’ The voice of the Lord is a powerful and creative River of Life. It is the Person of the Holy Spirit Himself and that same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. Like Aaron’s rod that budded again, we too have a supernatural root that calls the dead back to life. Is there barrenness in your life? Take heart and let the voice of the Lord declare life!
Leprosy is the scourge of any society as it was in Jesus’ time. But instead of avoiding them, Jesus touched and healed the lepers. He is calling His Church to go to the lepers. Christ in us, the Hope of Glory, wants to heal the spiritual leprosy in the Church and in our world. Don’t allow fear to hold us back.
One of my favourite classes in school was the one where our teacher would dish out exam tips just before examination. In the ‘exam of life’ that we’re taking, Jesus has also given us some tips on what to focus on and the accompanying grace to finish well. It’s found in the Book of Revelation which we will explore together this weekend.
Serving God is not about simply performing a religious duty. It’s about allowing His Spirit to empower us to do His works. It starts by thinking beyond ourselves and our own agendas, and letting the Holy Spirit energise us to be His light and salt to those around us.
All the things that the devil gained at the forbidden tree; Jesus regained at Calvary. God planted many trees in the Garden of Eden and each had its unique purpose. But only two were named for their great importance and challenged the course of the entire human race – the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Throughout our lives, we’ll have to choose from which tree we want to eat from, because between them lies the focal point of the dichotomy between the Kingdom of God and this present evil age.
God’s love is transformational and who He is fundamentally. But most of all, His love is personal. When His love goes beyond a concept and becomes a companion in our hearts, it transforms the way we relate to the world around us. If fear could have a fear, it would be us coming to a personal understanding of God’s great love for us.
