Coronavirus Q&A Podcast

Coronaviris Q & A, Thursday April 16, 2020

Listen Later

Today on KSL Newsradio's Coronavirus Q & A, host Jeff Caplan has Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox and Nate McDonald, of the Utah Coronavirus Tax Force, on deck to answer your questions.
Those questions include:
1 - What do you think about the protestors who are coming out into the streets of Utah and the United States to say, "its time to open the state/country for business." (1:55)
2 - I've heard that this is spread through the air, how can we possibly reopen and not have an outbreak? (5:14)
3 - Unemployment numbers are horrible, today the Utah legislature considers dropping the weeklong wait. Lt. Gov., are you onboard? (8:30)
4 - Regarding the people who say it's time to reopen, do you think that clear marking (of, for example, meat that had been packed by a person with COVID-19) would make reopening quickly an option? (10:38)
5 -  State prisoners were released recently with no supplies and no information about safe distancing. Can you describe the release and notification protocol? (14:01)
6 - When can health care workers who are considered ancillary (those who help with non-emergency services, for example) get back to work? (15:57)
7 -  How many/much PPE as Utah received? (18:25)
8 - Are there any hospitals in Salt Lake City that are experimenting with or using convalescent plasma therapy for critical care? (20:05)
9 -  At what point does the "slow the spread" plan outweigh the collateral damage (economy/unemployment/mental health issues)? (22:00)
10 - A bill before lawmakers today gives the Lt. Governor the power to get rid of in-person voting because of the pandemic. Is there a conflict of interest, since you are running to be Utah's governor? (25:25)
